Arizona State football’s road opener at Texas State rescheduled
Michael Chow/The Republic / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Arizona State Sun Devils’ 2024 road opener against the Texas State Bobcats will now be played on Thursday, Sept. 12.

This matchup was previously scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14 before the two schools agreed on the switch. ASU announced that the rescheduling is because of ESPN platform purposes that will be determined later this spring.

Arizona State’s Big-12 debut will come at home against Wyoming on August 31. They will then face Mississippi State before going on the road to Texas.

The Sun Devils are coming off a season of going 3-9 overall and 2-7 in Pac-12 play during head coach Kenny Dillingham’s first season with the team.

Texas State went 8-5 last season and defeated Rice in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl.

Dillingham and his team were incredibly active in the transfer portal, giving fans optimism for the future of Arizona State Football.

In their first season apart of the Big 12, ASU faces the toughest in-conference schedule and will have its hands full.
