Arizona State lands massive transfer from former Notre Dame QB Drew Pyne

New Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham hasn't coached in a game yet for the Sun Devils and he's already making massive waves in the desert.

After a visit this weekend that apparently went as well as possible, the Sun Devils have landed a more than notable transfer quarterback. Drew Pyne, who started ten games last season for the Fighting Irish, has announced that he'll transfer to Arizona State.

ESPN's Pete Thamel is reporting that Pyne felt an immediate connection to Dillingham — an Arizona State graduate — who was most recently the offensive coordinator at the University of Oregon. His Ducks boasted the fourth-best total offense in college football this season, putting up a whopping 507.8 yards per game while scoring 39.7 points per game.

Pyne was also apparently a fan of what Dillingham was able to do with Oregon quarterback Bo Nix, who threw for 3,389 yards and 27 touchdowns (six interceptions) this past season.

Pyne, himself, threw for 2,021 yards and 22 touchdowns with six interceptions. He'll have three years of eligibility remaining at Arizona State.
