The Arizona State Sun Devils are set up for another season of championship football. According to the Top 50 college football player rankings for 2025, put out by Dalton Wasserman and Max Chadwick at Pro Football Focus (PFF) College, two of ASU’s skill players made the list.

QB Sam Leavitt (#17) and WR Jordyn Tyson (#18) return to the Valley of the Sun for potentially another season of championship football.

Leavitt and Tyson led the Sun Devils to a Big 12 title after one of the biggest turnarounds in school history, going from just three victories in 2023 to 11 in 2024.

Then they gave the Texas Longhorns all they could handle in the college football playoff before losing a 2OT epic battle.

According to PFF College, Leavitt was the only quarterback at a Power Four program to post an 80.0 or higher grade at both throwing the football and running with it. Leavitt gained over 3,300 yards of total offense last season.

Tyson is as talented a receiver as there is in college football. Last season, Tyson caught 75 passes for 1,101 yards and 10 TDs. He averaged 14.68 yards per catch.

Expectations are high for the Sun Devils, and rightfully so. They return 17 starters and have continuity on their coaching staff.

Now that running back Cam Skattebo has moved on to the NFL, Leavitt and Tyson will be the focus of what will surely be offensive fireworks in the Valley in 2025.
