GREEN BAY — University of Arizona offensive guard Jonah Savaiinaea is heading to Florida after being selected by the Miami Dophins as the No. 51 overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Savaiinaea, 6-foot-4 and 324 pounds, used his size to his advantage to be a standout from Arizona and ranked top five in the combine. Coming from Tafuna, American Samoa, he has great ball knowledge, skills and versatility being able to play at both the guard and tackle — exactly what the Dolphins were looking to add to their offensive line.
Savaiinaea becomes the second Wildcat to be selected this weekend, following wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan’s top-10 selection earlier in the first round. With the Dolphins, Savaiinaea could have the opportunity to compete for an immediate role on a playoff-caliber roster looking to solidify its offensive line in front of quarterback Tua Tagavailoa.
Savaiinaea’s athleticism and lateral quickness could fit seamlessly into Miami’s blocking scheme, whether that be at guard or tackle. It will be interesting to see what he can produce as we get ready for camp and preseason.
