Arkansas’ 2026 Season Now Rests on KJ Jackson

Ahead of the 2026 college football season, the Arkansas Razorbacks officially went on to name their starting quarterback. Their decision finally came down to KJ Jackson, as he now takes over under center for Ryan Silverfield.

The battle came down to Jackson, AJ Hill and Braeden Fuller.

Why KJ Jackson Won the Job

Jackson entered the offseason already as the favorite due to his experience with the program and flashes he showed late in 2025. Out of the entire competition it was Hill who offered the greatest threat due to having been with Silverfield at Memphis, still it was Jackson who prevailed with already having SEC experience.

That experience was evident in five games during the 2025 season in which he completed 33 of his 54 passes for 441 yards and three touchdowns. The combination of efficiency, mobility and ball security are traits of Jackson that stand out, and with being given the job to start, if he can do that consistently throughout an entire season, he is the one that could bring Arkansas back to being a competitive team.
