The Arkansas Razorbacks bolstered their wide receiver room on Sunday with the addition of Andy Jean, a former four-star recruit and transfer from Florida and Pittsburgh. After an official visit to Fayetteville, Jean finalized his decision, citing the program’s culture and personal connections with the coaching staff as major factors.

A High-Potential Talent on the Move

Jean, listed at 6-foot-1 and around 185 pounds, was a standout in the 2023 recruiting cycle. The Miami native chose Florida over offers from national programs such as Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, and Texas A&M. His freshman season with the Gators saw limited action, recording six receptions for 97 yards.

Following his initial year, Jean transferred to Pittsburgh during the winter portal window but opted to enter the portal again in the spring. The decision led him to Arkansas, where a more personal and supportive atmosphere awaited.

A Connection Beyond Football

Jean's official visit to Arkansas proved pivotal. He cited meaningful conversations with head coach Sam Pittman and wide receivers coach Ronnie Fouch as critical in shaping his decision.

“I feel like I’ll be a Razorback because it feels like home,” Jean said. “Coach Pittman talked about more than just football, he shared personal stories, and that showed me they really understand the players they bring in.”

Jean emphasized the importance of a family-oriented environment, noting that the Arkansas coaching staff values players as individuals first, athletes second. “Being around these coaches reminded me of who I am and who I can still become," he said. "They believe in my potential to contribute immediately.”

Focused on a Fresh Start

Injuries, specifically hamstring issues, limited Jean’s impact during his time at Florida. However, he reports that his health is no longer a concern, pointing to a renewed commitment to body maintenance and nutrition.

Jean also praised Coach Fouch’s detail-oriented approach to developing receivers, suggesting the system in Fayetteville aligns well with his playing style. “Coach Fouch is all about the small things," Jean said. "The film work he showed me was impressive, and I can see myself fitting into their system."

With a clean bill of health and a new program backing him, Jean enters Arkansas with the chance to revive a once-promising trajectory with a fresh offense around him. As the Razorbacks continue to reshape their roster through the transfer portal, Jean stands out as a player with both upside and something to prove.
