Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty is having one of the best seasons ever at his position and has put himself in a position to win the Heisman Trophy on Dec. 14.
Of course, the Heisman is the most coveted trophy in college football, but there are many other honors to earn, including making the All-American team.
CBS Sports and 247Sports joined forces to announce who their picks are, and Jeanty earned First-Team at running back.
Not only did he win it, but he was also one of only two offensive players (Texas OL Kelvin Banks) on the First-Team offense to win unanimously.
It's not much of a surprise, though, because, in Boise's 13 games, as a rusher, Jeanty accumulated 2,497 yards (led CFB), 29 touchdowns (tied for first with Army RB Bryson Daily), 192.1 yards-per-game (led CFB) and 7.3 yards per rush in 339 attempts.
If he continues at that same rushing pace for Boise's Fiesta Bowl game on Dec. 31, he will break Barry Sander's single-season rushing record (2,628) by 61 yards.
He has also become the new single-season leader in rushing yards and touchdowns in Boise State history.
Jeanty joins Boise royalty Kellen Moore as the only two players in program history to be named a Heisman finalist.
