TEMPE — Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt and wide receiver Jordyn Tyson are earning national recognition before the 2025 season kicks off.
247Sports analyst Brandon Crawford named Leavitt and Tyson the best quarterback-wide receiver you in the country heading into the fall, citing their chemistry, explosiveness and fit within head coach Kenny Dillingham’s offense.
Leavitt, a former Michigan State transfer, played a big role in the Sun Devil’s success in the 2024 season and threw for 2,885 yards and 24 touchdowns. His mobility and poise made gave the offense what was needed for a more up-temp system.
Tyson, who transferred from Colorado after the 2023 season, bounced back from injury to lead ASU in receiving last fall with 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns on 75 catches, including five games with over 100 yards. His connection with Leavitt became one of the Big 12’s most dangerous — highlighted by a 12-ctach, 176-yard performance against Kansas State.
The Sun Devils enter their second season in the Big 12 with momentum and expectations. Dillingham has built the offense around Leavitt’s dual-threat abilities and Tyson’s explosiveness, aiming to have even more success and a deeper push in postseason compared to last season.
