Auburn defensive back Zion Puckett has declared for the NFL Draft, per his social media.
Puckett spent five seasons with the Tigers before declaring for the draft on New Year's Day. "I deeply appreciate God for giving me the strength to serve and honor him through the platform of football," Puckett said on Twitter. "It is with unwavering faith that I embark on this journey, acknowledging that my abilities are gifts to be utilized in his service."
"I extend my appreciation to my family for their constant love, my friends for their encouragement, my coaches for their mentorship, and my teammates for the shared victories and challenges. As I step into the next chapter, I carry the lessons and blessings from each of you, ready to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead."
Puckett racked up 148 tackles over the course of his Auburn career, snagging his only two interceptions this season. He finished 2023 with a PFF grade of 65.9, his second-best grade of his five seasons in college (66.3 in 2021).

Auburn will always hold a special place in my heart and I embark on this new chapter, and I am grateful for the foundation it has laid for my future endeavors. With that being said, I will be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. War damn eagle!"
