On Thursday, rumors emerged that the Auburn Tigers might make a significant move on the recruiting trail.

Hayes Fawcett of On3 took to social media, crafting a cryptic tweet that featured a GIF of Aubie the Tiger running on the field in front of a crowded Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Hours later, Fawcett reported that four-star quarterback Peyton Falzone had flipped his commitment from the Penn State Nittany Lions to the Auburn Tigers

A top prospect in the 2026 class, Falzone committed to Penn State in April. However, Auburn offered him a scholarship in June. In the same month, Falzone decommitted from the Nittany Lions and pledged his allegiance to the Tigers without taking a visit.

Alongside PSU and Auburn, Falzone has offers from the Utah Utes, Iowa Hawkeyes, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Bucknell Bison, Wisconsin Badgers, and Virginia Tech Hokies, among others.

In 2024, the six-foot-four passer threw for 2,135 yards, 23 touchdowns, and four interceptions. Falzone also shinned with his legs, rushing for 697 yards and eight scores. The Nazareth High School product collected 2,968 yards and 30 total touchdowns as a sophomore.

Andrew Ivins of 247Sports praised Falzone, saying, "Will need to keep working on the mechanics and learn how to operate from the pocket on a more consistent basis, but should be viewed as a potential multi-year starter at the Power Four level with true dual-threat capabilities that can light up the scoreboard with both his arm and legs."

Falzone will join a quarterback room led by former five-star recruit and Oklahoma Sooners recruit Jackson Arnold. Auburn also inked 2025 fringe five-star dual-threat passer, Duece Knight.
