Chris McClellan is a defensive lineman who played his first two seasons of college football for the Florida Gators.
McClellan was ranked as the 113th best player in the 2022 class according to 247Sports composite rankings. Auburn offered McClellan out of high school, but he, of course, decided to head to the Swamp.
He recently announced that he is entering his name in the transfer portal, and Auburn was one of the first teams to offer the six-foot-three, 320-pound defensive lineman.
A source said that two reasons McClellan left Florida was to find a place to develop him better and that has a good strength and conditioning program.
Auburn has the ability to do both of those things for McClellan, so it makes sense why Coach Freeze was quick to send out an offer.
Last season for the Gators, McClellan had 23 tackles and a half sack. He had 1.5 sacks in 2022, so in his career, McClellan has two total sacks. He graded out at 63.7 for the Gators last season on PFF.
Defensive line is a position Auburn will hit in the portal, so McClellan seems like a really good fit for this program.
Hopefully, Coach Freeze can get him on campus, and the Tigers can land this massive defensive lineman.
