The Auburn Tigers are honing in on a coveted four-star prospect for the 2026 college football recruiting class in interior offensive lineman Jared Smith.

A top 30 ranked interior offensive lineman from Georgia, according to On3, is going to be a potential big problem in college football when he gets in, and has narrowed down to his final four list.

Those remaining are the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Auburn.

Smith has just announced that he will be making his commitment decision on May 23, with the four schools excited for the potential to land the 6-foot-5 lineman.

Hugh Freeze and the Tigers are off to a strong start in their 2026 recruiting, currently ranked as the No. 14 overall recruiting class in the country.

While they are still hunting for their first five-star recruit, they do have a few top defenders in the class, including Hezekiah Harris, Shadarius Toodle, and JaMichael Garrett.

Should Smith choose Auburn, he will be their highest ranked offensive lineman in the class, and would give the Tigers a significant boost as they continue to build their class.

Recent predictions have landed Smith with his home state team in Georgia, but a few more days will tell for where he eventually chooses to go.

Heading into 2025, Auburn has the No. 8 overall recruiting class, including five-star quarterback Deuce Knight. Oklahoma Sooners transfer quarterback Jackson Arnold looks to have the starting job for the '25 season, and look to build on a disappointing 2024 campaign.
