It's a new era for the Auburn Tigers. After starting the season 4-5, head coach Hugh Freeze was fired and has since been replaced by Alex Golesh. He joins the Tigers after three seasons with the USF Bulls, going 23-15.
While trying to help Auburn achieve its first winning season since 2020, he and his staff are using several avenues to improve the roster. That includes high school recruiting. Auburn's only commitment in the 2027 cycle is unranked tight end Tank Proctor.
However, Golesh and his staff are pushing hard for several talented players. That includes quarterback Andre Adams out of Nashville, Tennessee.
At 6-foot-2.5 and 180 pounds, Adams is a four-star recruit, the No. 11 quarterback and the No. 138 player in the nation, per Rivals Industry Rankings.
As a junior at Antioch High School, he completed 174-of-245 passes for 3,418 yards, 35 touchdowns, one interception and a 151.2 quarterback rating. Adams was also effective on the ground rushing for 855 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Auburn has quickly made a strong impression, hosting him for two unofficial visits. The most recent came on Jan. 31. While speaking to Rivals' Steve Wiltfong, Adams shared his thoughts on the Tigers.
“Some of my big takeaways was that if I go there I will be taken care of,” Adams said. “I’m excited to see what the future holds with this program and the opportunity to be a part of a program like that if that is what I choose.”
While it does appear the Tigers are trending in the right direction, they're not alone in this battle. Adams also holds offers from the Cincinnati Bearcats, NC State Wolfpack and Mississippi State Bulldogs.
