The last time Auburn gained the commitment of a five-star was during the 2019 recruiting class when Bo Nix and Owen Pappoe were both signed.

Auburn will have an increased chance at this, at least according to On3 recruiting rankings. Coleman is now a five-star on 247 Sports and On3 Sports, Rivals is the only site that has him lower. On3 has moved Coleman from the 35th player in the nation and the 10th WR in the country to the sixth player overall and the number two wideout in the entire country.

Coleman actually has a connection to the most recent five-star, Bo Nix. Bo's father and former Auburn quarterback in his own right, Patrick Nix is Coleman's Head Coach for the Central-Phenix City Red Devils. Coleman has played under Nix since he took the helm over the program in 2020. During Nix's short tenure, the Red Devils are 31-9 and have made it to the playoffs each year, Auburn High School bested them on their way to the State Championship game.

Coleman has undoubtedly earned this fifth star, as he showed great ball skills and big-play ability during his junior season for CPC. Cam managed to rack up 542 receiving yards along with six receiving touchdowns.

The updated rankings mean that Auburn is currently in the hunt for two five-star receivers in Coleman and Alabama commit Perry Thompson of Foley. The receivers are not the only five-stars Auburn wants on board, as ATH Terry Bussey, DL Jordan Ross, and S KJ Bolden have all been on campus within the past month.
