The Auburn Tigers held their annual A-Day festivities at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday. It was free and open to fans and the Tigers put on a phenomenal show.

As Auburn heads into year three of the Hugh Freeze era the roster is finally starting to look like it should be able to compete at the highest levels. Following back to back years with Top 10 recruiting classes the young talents on the team look like they're all about ready to step up and dominate.

But who and what stood out the most? And should Auburn fans actually be extremely excited for the 2025 college football season? Let's dive in.

Deuce Knight living up to "QB of the Future" expectations

The highly touted transfer quarterback Jackson Arnold was sidelined for A-Day activities as he's nursing a minor injury which meant it was time for five star true freshman Deuce Knight to show off. That's exactly what he did.

Knight connected with star wide receivers Cam Coleman, Perry Thompson, and Horatio Fields for touchdowns throughout the A-Day practices as he sliced and diced the defense for much of the day. You can see one of his touchdowns to Cam Coleman in the post below during 7-on-7.

Deuce wasn't perfect, but he did manage to complete six or seven passes in a row at one point during the full team sessions. It's hard to believe that he should still just be a senior in high school.

Knight addressed some of the little mistakes he and teammates committed throughout the day, but also hyped up the talent all over the field when he met with the media after practices concluded (as you can see in post below).

Auburn may end up going with Jackson Arnold as their starter this fall, but Deuce Knight and his impressive early development with the program should make this a legitimate quarterback battle that carries well into the summer. The Auburn QB room is finally looking like it's in a great place with multiple promising options who could take the Tigers' offense to a new level.

Cam Coleman & WR room looking elite

Cam Coleman was one of the best true freshman wide receivers in the country last season. If not for Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith or Alabama's Ryan Williams then Coleman would likely have been considered the best freshman in the nation. It was no surprise to see him balling out again scoring touchdowns and manhandling defensive backs. The talent around him in the wide receiver room had quite the day too.

Perry Thompson made a couple of diving receptions and hauled in a 30+ yard touchdown. Horatio Fields broke open in red zone drills for a score too (in post below). It was an incredible showing from the wide receiver room as a whole.

Regardless of who the quarterback is this fall the wide receiver group for Auburn should make their life easy. The receiver room has been impressing all spring long and figures to be perhaps the strongest advantage on the roster when it comes time to face off against tough SEC competition.

Defense made impressive plays as well

While the offense got the majority of the love throughout A-Day practices the defense did make a few nice plays too, showing both sides of the ball are looking good.

Two freshman talents in Eric Winters and freak athlete Anquon Fegans both logged interceptions of Deuce Knight. Winters was in a bit of a "right time, right place" situation on a slight overthrow, but Fegans made the defensive play of the day (in post below), leaping in front of what would have been yet another touchdown for the Auburn offense.

There were still plenty of things to work on for both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, but Auburn fans have a ton to get excited about for the 2025 college football season. The offense looks stacked full of playmakers. The instant impact youth and key returning veterans look ready to take the defense to a new level as well. The lackluster 6-7 and 5-7 records over the last two seasons have been rough, but there's hope for much greater things this year.
