Jyaire Shorter has entered the transfer portal.
The wide receiver will grad transfer to the final school of his college career. Shorter came to Auburn from North Texas this past summer and never found a role on the team. Despite having an electric stat line at North Texas, he had just one catch during his one season at Auburn.
Auburn will need to reload at the wide receiver position both via the portal and the high school ranks. Shorter played in seven games this season for 87 total snaps. He was targeted four times.
Looking at the 2024 class for Hugh Freeze and the Tigers, playmakers Cam Coleman, Perry Thompson, Bryce Cain, and Malcolm Simmons are all expected to play early in their Auburn careers to help ignite the wide receiver room.
