'Battle Of The Bachmeiers': Stanford Set To Take On Brother Of WR Tiger Bachmeier in 2024
John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

With transfer portal news stealing the show as it often does in December, there is a new sibling rivalry brewing in ACC play.

Stanford fans were introduced to stud freshman receiver Tiger Bachmeier this season, as the former four-star recruit racked up 36 catches for 409 yards and two scores in the air and one on the ground in his first season in Palo Alto. He and fellow youngster Elic Ayomanor certainly look to be on track to being one of the best wide receiver duos in the country, and having more stability at quarterback should only help them thrive.

In 2024, the Cardinal will be partaking in ACC play for the first time following the collapse of the Pac-12, and one of the more interesting matchups that they have is against Wake Forest. The two teams have only played twice in their history in 2009 and 2010 with the series deadlocked at one apiece, but now there are some added stakes; bragging rights in the Bachmeier family.

The Demon Deacons recently added former Boise State and Louisiana Tech quarterback Wake Forest Hank Bachmeier via the transfer portal, who happens to be the older brother of Tiger. Hank spent four seasons on the Smurf-turf before transferring prior to this season, but was only able to play nine games for the Bulldogs before going down with an injury. He has amassed nearly 9,000 yards and thrown for 51 touchdowns throughout his career.

Not to mention, the Cardinal are also in hot pursuit of their younger brother, Bear, who is a four-star quarterback in the 2025 class. Will certainly be a fun game to look ahead to.
