With head coach Dave Aranda being fired on Sunday morning, Baylor players will have plenty to think about in the coming weeks as they wait until their transfer portal window opens. Here are five players to keep an eye on as possible transfer targets if they decide to make themselves available:
The skinny: While Lagway has yet to reach the massive expectations placed on him when he arrived at Florida in 2024, his physical tools would remain a draw for P4 programs. Across his career, he has thrown for 5,531 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions with a 59.1% completion percentage. If he decides to look for his third school, Lagway will find head coaches and offensive coordinators confident they can refine his game and unlock his ceiling.
The skinny: After two quiet developmental seasons at Oklahoma, Jordan has found his footing in Waco this fall, racking up 30 tackles alongside a team-leading three interceptions and six passes defended. His premium athleticism, as shown by a documented 10.71-second 100-meter dash, and his proven ability to play both outside corner and nickel back make him an instant-impact plug-and-play prospect for most defensive coordinator.
The skinny: Burns flashed his potential as a true freshman with 18 tackles and an interception, but he has taken a noticeable step forward in 2026. In just seven games, he has 20 tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack, and two pass breakups. He fits the mold of the modern, sideline-to-sideline off-ball linebacker, and programs will view him as a foundational defensive piece with three full seasons of eligibility remaining.
The skinny: Experienced interior offensive linemen with prototype center size are a rare commodity in the transfer portal. Sieracki brings experience and critical positional flexibility, having logged playing time at both center and guard. Teams looking to stabilize the interior of their offensive line will make Sieracki a priority.
The skinny: Onu is an incredibly intriguing defender who is only beginning to scratch the surface of his potential. After an eight-tackle freshman year, in 2026 he has 16 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, and a forced fumble through seven games. A dynamic, hard-hitting safety hybrid built for modern schemes, Onu has the frame to operate as a run-stopping box defender and the coverage athleticism to cover tight ends. His upside alone will bring heavy portal pursuit.
