Addressing another need on the roster, the Chicago Bears used their third second-round pick to upgrade the trenches. After selecting OT Ozzy Trapilo with the 56th overall pick that was acquired in the trade with Buffalo, the Bears chose DT Shemar Turner from Texas A&M at 62nd overall.

Entering the draft, the trenches were a clear need on both sides of the football. With a pair of second round picks, the Bears upgrade those positions.

Turner has played the edge in his time with Texas A&M, but kicked inside with the arrival of Nic Scourton. However, Turner has an explosion that the Bears clearly like, and he may be able to move around and do different things in a Dennis Allen-inspired defense.

In four years with the Aggies, Turner recorded 115 combined tackles (54 solo) with 24 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and three forced fumbles. Turner is disruptive, and could be an intriguing weapon on the defensive line joining the likes of Montez Sweat, Grady Jarrett, and others.
