Betting Line for the "Iron Bowl" Shows Clear Favorite Between Alabama, Auburn

The Auburn Tigers' last win over the Alabama Crimson Tide may have been in 2019, but that will not stop the in-state hatred both schools have for each other.

The first game in the series, known as the "Iron Bowl," was played in 1893 in Montgomery, Alabama. Even if both programs are not at the same level, the game always seems to deliver in the drama department.

Last season was no different, as Auburn led Alabama 24-20 with under a minute to go.

Alabama drove down the field and ended up inside the Tigers' 10-yard line. However, things went wrong for the Crimson Tide offense, with an 18-yard loss and 2nd-and-goal, followed by a five-yard illegal forward pass penalty on the next play. The game was on the line with a 4th-and-goal from the Auburn 31.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe hit receiver Isaiah Bond for a 31-yard touchdown pass after sitting in the pocket for what felt like an eternity. The Crimson Tide won the game 27-24 after intercepting Auburn on the next possession.

The Crimson Tide are opening as a 14.5-point favorite, per FanDuel Sportsbook

Alabama has won the last four meetings in the series with Auburn. A fifth-straight win over an in-state rival would be another milestone for first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer.

DeBoer joined Alabama from the Washington Huskies after Nick Saban retired and has the Crimson Tide ranked at No. 7 in the College Football Playoff Rankings.

Auburn's second-year head coach, Hugh Freeze, is attempting to take the program to the second bowl game of his Tigers tenure.

This season's "Iron Bowl" will be held on Nov. 30. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC and ESPN+.
