Betting Odds for No. 5 Georgia vs. No. 17 Alabama in Week 5

Week 5 of the college football season offers no shortage of intriguing matchups.

It's that time of year when key conference matchups start to take place. For the SEC in particular, there's a few massive games on Saturday. No. 4 LSU will travel to No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 9 Texas A&M will host Auburn and No. 17 Alabama will face No. 5 Georgia in Athens.

Fanduel Sportsbook lists Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Georgia as the betting favorites in each of those contests. The Bulldogs are a 2.5-point favorite over the Crimson Tide and the over/under is set at 52.5.

Georgia is led by quarterback Gunner Stockton who many consider a Heisman Trophy contender. The redshirt junior has totaled 721 passing yards and four touchdowns through three games. He has yet to throw an interception.

Alabama will have their hands full in keeping quarterback Ty Simpson clean in the pocket. The Crimson Tide signal-caller has been efficient so far this season with 862 passing yards and nine touchdowns through the first three games of the season.

This massive SEC matchup, which also poses College Football Playoff implications, will likely come down to which defense can bring the most pressure. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
