FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff is headed to Ames for the 2025 CyHawk game, and the timing couldn’t be better.
The network announced that its flagship pregame show will broadcast live from Jack Trice Stadium on Sept. 6, when Iowa State hosts Iowa in the annual in-state rivalry. This marks the first time Big Noon Kickoff will originate from Ames, giving the Cyclones’ home crowd a national stage to showcase one of college football’s most intense rivalries.

The 2024 edition of the CyHawk game was an instant classic. Iowa State erased a 13-point halftime deficit to stun No. 21 Iowa 20–19 in Iowa City.
Redshirt freshman walk-on kicker Kyle Konrardy delivered the game-winner—a 54-yard field goal with just six seconds remaining—capping a furious second-half rally that included a 75-yard touchdown pass from Rocco Becht to Jaylin Noel.
The victory was Iowa State’s third in the last 11 meetings, but notably, four of the Cyclones’ last five wins in the series have come on the road. Iowa still leads the all-time series 47–24, but the 2024 result added another chapter to a rivalry that often defies rankings and expectations.
With both teams returning key contributors in 2025—including Becht for Iowa State and standout running back Kaleb Johnson for Iowa—the upcoming matchup promises another hard-fought battle. The added spotlight of FOX’s premier pregame show only amplifies the stakes.
Kickoff time and broadcast details for the 2025 CyHawk game are expected to be announced later this summer.
