As the college football season approaches, there are a handful of notable programs that have yet to publicly declare a starting quarterback.

Powerhouses such as Ohio State, Alabama, Michigan, and Notre Dame have all yet to reveal who will have the keys to the program in 2025. Joining these historic college football programs in looking for an answer at quarterback are Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes.

His son, Shedeur Sanders, who left Colorado with over 100 records to his name, is now fighting for the Cleveland Browns' starting job after being selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft.

To replace him, Coach Prime landed five-star recruit Julian Lewis and 2023 Conference USA MVP and Liberty transfer, Kaidon Salter. While the veteran Salter looked more polished in the spring game, a winner has yet to be declared.

A sentiment that has been proven true by the Big 12's announcement of the student-athlete attendees for the upcoming Big 12 Football Media Days.

As revealed in the announcement by the Big 12, Colorado has chosen to send offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, corner DJ McKinney, kicker Alejandro Mata and both Salter and Lewis.

The Buffs will be the only team to send multiple quarterbacks, as typically, teams that don't have a clear-cut starter opt not to send one at all. A move that West Virginia, Oklahoma State and UCF all decided to go with.

Although it's an unusual approach from Colorado, it does allow a young player like Lewis to be exposed to extensive media coverage. It also allows fans and media members alike to hear from both quarterbacks in the battle, which is rare in itself.

This year's Big 12 Football Media Days will take place Tuesday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 9 at the Dallas Cowboys’ global headquarters in Frisco, Texas. Due to Deion Sanders' ongoing health concerns, it is unclear at this time if he will attend.
