Big Ten Media Days gets underway on Tuesday in Las Vegas. The Washington Huskies will take the stage inside the Mandalay Bay on Wednesday for day two of the annual media event. Head coach Jedd Fisch will be accompanied by three Husky representatives, including quarterback Demond Williams Jr., running back Jonah Coleman, and cornerback Ephesians Prysock.

Big Ten Media Days for UW

U of A Roots Representing Washington

Two of the Washington representatives were members of the top 25 recruiting class of 2022 at Arizona. It was a defining class in terms of the trajectory of the Wildcats’ program under Fisch. Prysock signed as a four-star, and Coleman as a three-star. In fact, eight of the 25 members of that class are now on the Washington roster. All eight are slated to be either starters or in the rotation for playing time this season on Montlake.

Williams also began his career intending to play for Fisch at Arizona. He transferred to Washington just days after enrolling at Arizona due to the coaching change. In the midst of his freshman campaign, Fisch called him, “The future face of Washington Football.” Williams played in all 13 games last season. After helping Washington pull away from UCLA with three-straight scoring drives, he earned starts in the team’s final two games. That included the Sun Bowl, where he overcame an early pick-six, nearly pulling off a dramatic comeback victory.

Washington On Day Two

On Wednesday in Las Vegas, we’ll hear from Fisch and company as the days draw closer to the beginning of Fall camp on Montlake. Washington finished last season with a 6-7 record, but earned a signature win over a ranked Michigan team and extended its home win streak to 20 games. This Fall, Washington will host the defending national champion for the second-consecutive season as the Ohio State Buckeyes head to Seattle on September 27th. It will be the first conference game of the season for Washington, and the first road game of the season for the Buckeyes.

Other Day Two Programs

Alongside the Huskies, Wednesday will feature Penn State, Wisconsin, Oregon, Northwestern, and Minnesota. PJ Fleck and the Golden Gophers added a couple of former Washington players in the transfer portal this offseason. Seventh-year running back Cam Davis will play his final season of eligibility in Minneapolis, where he’ll help take the load off of starting running back Darius Taylor. Fleck and company also added offensive tackle Kahlee Tafai from Washington. He didn’t participate in Spring practice for the Gophers, but he’s expected to compete for a starting job at tackle right away.
