The USC Trojans are making waves in the transfer portal and are set to host Tulane defensive back Rayshawn Pleasant this weekend. According to a source cited by On3, Pleasant will visit USC from Friday to Sunday as the Trojans look to bolster their secondary for the 2025 season.

Pleasant, a 6’0”, 185-pound sophomore, is one of the most versatile defensive backs in the portal. His breakout season with Tulane in 2024 caught the attention of programs nationwide. Pleasant recorded 27 solo tackles, three passes defended, and one interception, showing his ability to impact the game at every level.

His playmaking ability extends beyond defense. Pleasant was electric on special teams, taking a kickoff return 94 yards for a touchdown and adding a highlight-reel 100-yard pick-six to his résumé. His speed and instincts make him a dangerous weapon in any situation.

For USC, Pleasant’s skills are a perfect fit. The Trojans’ defense is transitioning to compete with the physicality and pace of the Big Ten, and Pleasant offers the type of versatility needed to excel in their system. His ability to cover ground quickly, read plays, and contribute in multiple game phases could provide an instant upgrade to USC’s secondary.

With USC fans eager to see how the team adapts to their new conference, Pleasant’s visit is turning heads. If the Trojans can secure his commitment, it would signal their intent to not only contend but dominate as they prepare for the challenges ahead.

For now, the focus is on Los Angeles, where USC looks to make its case to one of the most sought-after players in the portal. Pleasant’s next chapter could start soon, and the Trojans hope to make it in cardinal and gold.
