Biletnikoff-winning WR Jordan Addison transfers from Pitt to USC

Six months after Pittsburgh's Jordan Addison won the Fred Biletnikoff Award recognizing college football's most outstanding receiver, he announced Thursday that he's joining the USC Trojans.

"The last few weeks have been very difficult," Addison wrote in a statement posted on Twitter. "I struggled with my decision as to whether I should exercise my right to enter the portal. Student athletes have not always had that opportunity, and I made that choice.

"I have now carefully considered the advice of my family and close friends and fully weighed both the risks and benefits associated with my decision. I also respect that others may make a different choice. But for me, I will continue my full development as a student athlete by enrolling at USC."

Addison finished his sophomore season in 2021 with 100 receptions, 1,593 receiving yards, and 17 touchdown grabs. He joined Antonio Bryant and Larry Fitzgerald as the third Pitt player to win the Biletnikoff Award.

In November, USC hired former Oklahoma Sooners coach Lincoln Riley to helm the program. Since hiring Riley, the Trojans have added several players via the transfer portal, including former Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams, former Oregon running back Travis Dye, former Oklahoma wide receiver Mario Williams and former Arizona State linebacker Eric Gentry.
