Bill Belichick has been on a tear in SEC country lately, convincing four-star tight end Carson Sneed to flip from the Tennessee Volunteers on Friday.
On Sunday, he did something similar, but with another university that uses the abbreviation UT. The Texas Longhorns lost the race for four-star running back Amir Brown to the North Carolina Tar Heels, per Rivals' Hayes Fawcett.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were also in the running for the 2027 prospect. Brown is a North Carolina native, hailing from Raleigh, and attends Rolesville High School.
He also held offers from the Penn State Nittany Lions, Florida State Seminoles, Ohio State Buckeyes and others.
Brown is the No. 20 running back and top player at his position from the state of North Carolina in the Rivals Industry Rankings for the class.
The Tar Heels made sure to keep tabs on the running back, visiting with him the most out of all the schools that recruited him. North Carolina visited Brown five times and last had an unofficial visit with him on March 22.
The talk of the offseason for Texas has been Arch Manning, who will finally get a shot to start under center for the Longhorns in 2025. Urban Meyer believed that Manning would be under the most pressure for a quarterback in recent memory.
Meyer went back to his days with the Florida Gators (2005-2010) and recalled the pressure players like Chris Leak, Tim Tebow and Cam Newton faced in Gainesville.
ESPN's Matt Barrie also weighed in on the weight of bearing the Manning name, calling the pressure unfair considering the young quarterback has not been a full-time starter yet.
