The recruiting train for Florida Gators head coach Billy Napier has been building momentum over the last few weeks. The trenches have been a place of continued focus and that has continued. Napier has locked in an official visit with four-star tight end Carson Sneed.

He's not just a highly-ranked tight end, Sneed is committed to Tennessee.

Gators to host Tennessee commit on official visit

This is a big deal for the Gators on multiple fronts. Sneed is the 16th-ranked tight end and the 10th-ranked recruit in the state of Tennessee. Tight end has been a tougher position for the Gators to get talent at, and the addition of Sneed would be a huge one.

A visit to Florida came about because Sneed cancelled visits to both Colorado and UCLA. The visit for Sneed on campus will be the first one, as tight ends coach Russ Callaway visited Sneed's high school.

The Gators will be hosting Sneed on June 13th, which will be the fourth of his five official visits currently on the schedule. Sneed has already visited North Carolina back on April 25th. His remaining visit schedule is as follows:

  • Ole Miss: May 30th
  • Miami (FL): June 6th
  • Florida: June 13th
  • Tennessee: June 20th

Hosting Sneed on campus could be a huge factor in getting him to flip, especially with the tight end situation more open than others on the Gators roster. Plus, it would take a recruit from bitter rival Tennessee.
