Bowers powers TD parlay for tonight's Natty

Tonight is all about college football. Georgia will be looking to win its second straight championship, while TCU is looking to prove it belongs. With the over/under set at 63.5 points, it's clear the expectation is an exciting display of offense.

Two bets for tonight's national championship

+265 touchdown parlay (FanDuel)

  • Brock Bowers
  • Max Duggan

When you see a game total set in the 60s, it's sacrilegious to not load up a touchdown parlay, sorry but those are just the rules. We'd like a piece of both ends, and we find this Bowers-Duggan combination to be particularly inviting.

First, Duggan. The Heisman runner-up has rushed for three touchdowns in the past two games and has scored on the ground in three of his last four. Much has been made of the Georgia defensive line, and for good reason. Should they impact the pocket like they so often do, it's all the more reason for Duggan to tuck it and run. He's not been shy in that regard of late, carrying the ball 30 times over the past two weeks.

Brock Bowers is not a standalone option at his odds but worth adding here in what should be a high-scoring affair. The 6-4 TE has three touchdowns in his past five games and has shown a propensity for producing in big moments, hauling in a touchdown in both CFP games last season. We expect Bowers to work to the second level of the field and make a play against a susceptible TCU defense.

TCU +12.5

Ultimately, we want to back the Horned Frogs again, just as we did against Michigan. TCU is 13-1, with their lone loss a three-point defeat in the Big 12 Championship. Their offense is designed to push the pace, keep the defense tired, and turn the game into a track meet. They did that successfully against Michigan with their 51-45 win, and we like them to stay within striking distance here.

Georgia's defense has had its leaks of late, allowing 71 points in their past two games. Sure, they could tighten up given the NFL talent they have on the roster, but the two most recent performances are so fresh in our minds. TCU has averaged over 40 points per game this season and we like them to maintain their scoring tonight in what should be a fun one.

Enjoy the action, the game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. If you're looking for more content and betting angles, we have you covered here.

In the news ...

NFL playoff picture finalized — The Lions' upset win over the Packers on Sunday night put the finishing touches on the NFL postseason matchups, which are as follows. Saturday's action will bring No. 7 Seattle at No. 2 San Francisco and No. 5 Los Angeles at No. 4 Jacksonville. Sunday will have three games: No. 7 Miami at No. 2 Buffalo, No. 6 New York at No. 3 Minnesota, and No. 6 Baltimore at No. 3 Cincinnati. Monday night will wrap the action with No. 5 Dallas at No. 4 Tampa Bay. The 49ers and Bills are currently tied for the largest favorites, both currently favored by 10.5 points. The Chargers (-1) and Cowboys (-3) are the two road favorites.

Bears get first overall pick in the draft — Chicago's loss, coupled with a last-second win by Houston was the magic recipe for the Bears to jump the Texans on the draft board. The 3-14 Bears are in an intriguing position here at the top of the draft. Justin Fields clearly showed that he could be their franchise quarterback, so does Chicago keep the pick and draft the best available, trade back, or do they create chaos by taking another passer?

Kevin Durant suffers MCL sprain — The Brooklyn Nets, one of the NBA's hottest teams, received news to start the week after Kevin Durant left Sunday's game with a right knee injury. Durant has been diagnosed with an MCL sprain and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania. Jimmy Butler landed on Durant's knee, and Durant was able to limp off the court before being tended to. Last year, Durant sprained the MCL in his other knee, causing him to miss five weeks. Brooklyn went 5-16 in his absence.
