Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners just got a major win in Week 5 and they didn't even play anyone

Sooners need McCreary to maintain top class

The 2027 class is currently listed as the second-best class so far on On3. But, there is still a long way to go. It's unrealistic to think the Sooners will continue to land a ton of five-star recruits. However, they can continue to put together a ton of four-star recruits in this class, and McCreary is one of them.

Right now, the Sooners have Hackett, who's a five-star offensive lineman, a four-star offensive lineman in Penny, a four-star wide receiver in Demare Dezeurn, and a three-star offensive lineman in Luke Wilson. Getting McCreary would be their first defensive player of the cycle.

McCreary is athletic and smart at the position. He has ball skills and can really shut down one side of the field. There seems to be hope that one day it could translate to the college level, too.

Oklahoma seems to be a good destination for him at the position because of the homegrown talent in that room right now under Brent Venables. True freshman CB Courtland Guillory is currently the best guy on the team at his position, and plays a ton. McCreary may be looking at that situation and wants a similar opportunity.
