LSU head coach Brian Kelly is not the first college football coach to leave one program for another. He's not even the first to leave before his former team's bowl game. That happens a bunch in college football, and it's not like Notre Dame, of all places, would have had trouble finding his replacement.
Then why is Kelly such a hate-able figure in college sports right now?
It could be the fake southern accent. Most likely, that was strike one. There's also the corny dancing with recruits, but that's nothing new.

It could just be the way he holds himself. That, or the fact that coming off a heartbreaking loss in which his special teams gave away two muffed punts and had a PAT blocked to lose the game, he decided to call out the media for being late to a press conference.
As you'll see, that call-out didn't end well for the LSU coach.
