Veteran fans of the Oklahoma Sooners will recognize Tony Jefferson, a former defensive leader for Oklahoma from 2010 to 2012. A former All-American and First-Team All-Big 12 safety, Jefferson pivoted his Sooners career into the NFL, where he has been a significant contributor for over a decade.
Now, Jefferson is trying to ensure his brother can enjoy a similar career with the Sooners.
My younger brother is ready to be a big time weapon for OU’s offense .. 40’ vert https://t.co/osavJD94JT

Jefferson tweeted at Oklahoma football general manager Jim Nagy that his brother, Josiah, was ready to be a big-time playmaker.
A JUCO tight end from California, Jefferson currently holds offers from Arizona, Boise State, and Utah. That could change soon, however.
According to George Stoia of SoonerScoop, Jefferson visited the Sooners this weekend after a visit to Arizona.
"I spoke briefly with Josiah Jefferson, the little brother of Tony Jefferson, and he will be visiting OU this weekend. He's a 6'5, 230-pound tight end from Southwestern College and Mater Dei High School. He's primarily played receiver and safety in his career, but recently moved to tight end. He is hoping to be eligible for the upcoming season, but I think there are some NCAA hurdles there. Either way, he will be in town this weekend. He just visited Arizona last weekend."
Jefferson would technically be part of the 2026 class as a JUCO recruit. If he does end up joining the Sooners, he would likely be their third tight end addition in the class, barring an unexpected recruiting shift. Whether he will have a full scholarship or a PWO offer is unknown at this point, as the new roster limits will affect construction significantly.
The Sooners have had success with the JUCO ranks in recent years, namely with the additions of Kendel Dolby and defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey. They haven't heavily recruited JUCO players under Brent Venables, but they must see something intriguing in the California product to bring him in for a visit.
It would be an awesome legacy moment for one of the most passionate Sooners of the 21st century. It's one to keep an eye on moving forward.
