This June, BYU football isn’t just hosting recruits—it’s hosting the future. In what may be the program’s most pivotal recruiting stretch in years, the Cougars are lining up a marquee weekend (June 19–22) that could reshape the roster for seasons to come. The star-studded visit list, headlined by five-star quarterback Ryder Lyons, sends a clear message: Kalani Sitake and his staff are swinging big.
Lyons, rated a near-perfect 99 and one of the top passers in the 2026 class, headlines a deep list of blue-chip talent set to experience Cougar Nation. Landing him would give BYU its highest-rated QB commit in the modern recruiting era and a foundational piece as it continues its Big 12 climb. BYU has never landed a five-star prospect, so Lyons would be the first ever if he commits.
But Lyons isn’t the only showstopper.
Four-star offensive lineman Tommy Tofi reshuffled his entire visit schedule to make room for Provo. Originally bound for Miami, Tofi now has BYU among his final five, joining Utah, Oregon, Tennessee, and Cal. At 6’5”, 300 pounds with elite footwork, Tofi would be a cornerstone in BYU’s trenches.
The Cougars also rekindled interest from dynamic running back LaMarcus Bell, a 2,000-yard rusher who previously committed to Oregon State. Now back on the market, Bell is taking BYU seriously. Named the 2024 OSAA 6A Offensive Player of the Year, he brings game-breaking speed, physicality, and versatility.
Also expected in town: four-star tight end Brock Harris, physical linemen Jax Tanner and Esaiah Wong, edge rusher Prince Williams, and linebacker Adam Bywater—a class that could fill needs across the board.
The next few weeks could mark a turning point in BYU’s Power Four journey. Fans should circle June 19—not just on the calendar, but in program history.
