BYU Injury Update

BYU has had several injuries to start this season. Many fans are wondering about a BYU injury update on who is out, who could go, and who is going to play tomorrow night. All of this information comes from Head Coach Kalani Sitake’s Monday Interview and a parent of one of the players.

Offense

Gunner Romney

Gunner Romney’s mom took to Instagram on Monday and said “Receiver Gunner Romney “will finally get to see the field this week” after being sidelined since the third practice of fall camp with a lacerated kidney.”

This is going to be helpful for the Cougar’s offense who is a hit or miss most weeks.

Puka Nacua

Nacua played until getting hurt in the fourth quarter. Still a game-time decision. Yes, the same old answer from Coach Sitake but it’s an answer and he also said “they are still evaluating and that no one is lost for the yet.”

Chase Roberts

He played in the first half and then didn’t play the second after leaving with an injury. Expect him for the Utah State matchup.

Kingsley Suamataia

Suamataia also left the Saturday game early and is also expected to play on Thursday.

Defense

Max Tooley

Didn’t play in Wyoming but will play on Thursday. This is huge for the Cougar defense as Tooley has been one of the big guys so far this season.

Gabe Summers

After not playing for a couple of weeks he will make his return in the Wagon Wheel matchup. The line needs him back as they have struggled to stop the run game and that is what Utah State loves to do.

Earl Tuioti-Mariner

Making his return to the field after not playing on Saturday also. The defense should be more productive as some of their more experienced guys make their return to the gridiron.

Malik Moore

Moore “is still a wait and see the guy”

Kaleb Hayes

Hayes missed Saturday’s game with a concussion and is out until he can clear concussion protocol.

Josh Larsen

Larsen left the Saturday game and was seen on the sideline with crutches and a brace on his leg. The coach provided no update on him.

Special Teams

Austin Riggs

Riggs, the long snapper is out for some significant time. Britton Hogan and Dalton Riggs will step in to play for him.
