BYU Wins Four-Star EDGE Over Oklahoma

The recruiting trail is full of surprises.

Kalani Sitake and BYU just picked up a key in-state prospect with four-star EDGE Uhila Wolfgramm from Maple Mountain High School in Spanish Fork, Utah. The state’s No. 4 prospect in the 2027 class chose the Cougars over an offer from Oklahoma in the SEC. The Sooners notably won the class’s leading recruit, Bode Sparrow, last week after a recruiting war with the likes of BYU and Utah in the Big 12.

But Wolfgramm, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound edge rusher is committed to the Cougars with a 90.95 Rivals rating and a top-30 ranking from the folks at ESPN evaluating the country’s top recruits at his position. It’s a valuable addition and meaningful, too, considering the Provo campus is roughly 11 miles from his Wolfgramm’s high school.

“BYU felt like home,” Wolfgramm told Greg Biggins of Rivals. “It was a really tough decision and I didn’t lock it in until the last 24 hours.”

Wolfgramm made two visits to Oklahoma, which appeared the frontrunner for the Utah star, earlier this spring, and made his official visit to BYU earlier in June. He’s been on Sitake’s radar since 2024.

In his junior campaign, Wolfgramm recorded the eighth-most sacks (9.0) in Utah’s Class 5A with 36 total tackles (7 solo), 20 tackles-for-loss, 3 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He’ll be a major asset for the Golden Eagles again this fall, as the BYU commit wraps his prep career.
