Cam Skattebo Brought to Tears by Surprise From a Legend

New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo experienced one of the most emotional moments of his young career after receiving a gift and heartfelt advice from NFL legend Eddie George.

Skattebo appeared in a video titled The Locker Room, released by Fanatics, where established stars, including Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Peyton Manning, Jerry Rice, and more, offered personalized messages ahead of the 2025 season .

During the clip, George presented Skattebo with an autographed jersey and told him to “begin the journey with the end in mind.” The message, combined with the signed jersey, visibly moved Skattebo—who choked up as he thanked the former Tennessee Titans star.

“It means a lot just knowing how much he cares,” Skattebo said. “Because coming from a great and somebody who has done it and knows what it takes. I know he’s there for me if I need it.”

Skattebo, a fourth-round pick out of Arizona State, burst onto the national stage last season with over 1,700 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns. Now entering his rookie season with the Giants, his emotional reaction underscores both personal vulnerability and respect for the heritage of the position.

The video highlighted multiple rookies receiving personal messages and memorabilia from Hall of Famers and legendary figures, underscoring the fraternity of the NFL. Skattebo’s tearful appreciation stood out among other reactions, showing that even seasoned pros recognize how impactful these gestures can be.

Head coach Brian Daboll and Giants fans already see Skattebo’s energy and determination during training camp. Known for his physical style and competitive mindset, he is quickly earning trust from teammates and coaches alike.
