Miami tight end Elijah Arroyo fulfilled a lifelong dream of all football players by being drafted into the NFL. Arroyo was drafted at No. 50 by the Seattle Seahawks.
After playing in only 11 games over two seasons because of a torn ACL early in his college career, Arroyo was a 2nd team All-ACC selection in 2024.
Arroyo hauled in 35 passes for 590 yards and seven touchdowns. 2024 was his only season as a starter. Arroyo gained the most receiving yards by a Miami tight end in a decade.
There have now been 16 tight ends from the Hurricanes to be drafted in the NFL.
Arroyo has good game speed from the tight end position and keeps defenses on their heels.
The Titans’ No. 1 pick, Miami QB Cam Ward, had nothing but praise for Arroyo.
“Arroyo’s just one of those different tight ends. I think by the end of his career, he’ll be able to solidify himself as a top-10 tight end in the NFL. And that’s not even from just making plays, scoring touchdowns. That’s him just giving effort,” Ward said, according to Adam Lichtenstien of sunsentinel.com.--Titans No.1 pick Cam Ward
If there is a knock against Arroyo, it will be his injury history and lack of game film. Arroyo will have to prove to his new team that he can stay healthy. His best ability may be availability.
