The Georgia Bulldogs pulled off an eight-overtime win over Georgia Tech on Friday night in Athens. Despite a 17-0 Georgia Tech lead, Georgia scored two touchdowns in the final six minutes of the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime.

Then, somehow, this game went into eight overtime periods, with Georgia scoring on a two-point conversion attempt by Nate Frazier.

It sent the Georgia fans into celebration mode, and it caused pure heartbreak for the Georgia Tech team and fanbase.

After the game, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key shared a long embrace after the exhausting finish.

After that, cameras caught Key staring blankly at the scoreboard in complete disbelief.

The Georgia Tech head coach looked at the scoreboard for almost a minute.

Key even shook the hand of a Georgia staffer but muttered just a few words while looking on.

It was a heartbreaking loss for Georgia Tech, especially since they had a 17-0 halftime lead and then had a two-touchdown lead with less than six minutes left in regulation.

Instead, the Yellow Jackets came up short of what will be remembered as an instant classic in this rivalry matchup.

Georgia Tech is still eligible for a bowl game, which is good news, but the sour taste in their mouths will likely last for quite some time.
