CBS Sports’ Brad Crawford ranked Alabama football’s quarterback, Ty Simpson as the No. 24 quarterback in college football ahead of the 2025 season.
Simpson has not won Alabama football’s quarterback competition, but he is in a good position to do so this fall.
The former five-star has seen very limited action since signing with the Crimson Tide as a member of the 2022 recruiting class. He has played in 16 games, mostly in mop-up duty. Simpson entered the spring as the Tide’s most experienced quarterback, and it appeared he took advantage of his experience over Keelon Russell and Austin Mack.
Alabama’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb gave Simpson the nod to start if Alabama was playing a game during the spring.
The Tide’s coaching staff has been very adamant about the quarterback competition still being open post-spring.
