Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers finished the 2025 season going 7-6 and 4-4 in ACC matchups. They capped the year with a Pinstripe Bowl loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions.

It's a disappointing end after entering Week 1 ranked No. 4 in the AP Top 25 Poll and being considered national championship contenders.

However, as the offseason rolls on, Swinney has turned to the transfer portal to help improve the roster. Clemson has already added five players through the portal, with the latest addition coming on Friday.

On3's Hayes Fawcett reported that the Tigers landed former Southern Miss Golden Eagles safety Corey Myrick.

This past season, Myrick appeared in 13 games for the Golden Eagles. He racked up 92 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, four pass deflections and one forced fumble.

Rivals ranks him as a three-star recruit and the No. 39 safety to enter the portal this cycle. He still has two more years of eligibility.

He could make an immediate impact on Clemson's secondary, which has faced some serious struggles. The Tigers finished the 2025 season ranked 120th in passing yards allowed per game (251.2). They were also tied for 31st in points allowed per game (20.5)

It's an area in the roster Swinney has put a lot of focus into. Myrick is the fourth defensive back to land through the portal, joining three-star cornerback Donovan Starr (Auburn), three-star cornerback Elliot Washington II (Penn State) and three-star safety Jerome Carter (Old Dominion).

As Clemson continues to load up for the 2026 season, these transfer portal additions will be expected to help the Tigers bounce back.
