Clemson QB has faith in HC Dabo Swinney to turn team's season around

It's been a rough stretch for Clemson football, to say the least.

Dabo Swinney's unit is 4-4 and has lost two straight games. A losing season could very well be in the cards for the Tigers, which would be Swinney's first losing season since 2010 — if it were to go down that way.

Per quarterback Cade Klubnik, though, losing is something that the Tigers aren't going to make a habit of — not if Swinney has his way with the mindset of this program.

“Yeah, what he’s done for a long time now is win. And for a long time, that’s kind of all I’ve done is win,” Klubnik recently said (h/t On3). “And we kinda spoke on that and on we’re not used to losing. He said, ‘We’re never gonna get used to it; we’re never gonna get used to that.’

“I think that the people who love to win will never get used to losing because they hate losing. So every time a loss happens, they don’t. They don’t grow numb to it, but it is as much as it did the first time. That’s something I’ll never let become numb to me because I feel the same way in this one that I did in the first one.”

Klubnik is a former five-star recruit, ranked as the No. 2 quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class, so he's certainly used to high-level football.

The same can obviously be said of Swinney. Love him or hate him, there's no denying his results at Clemson. He's 165-43 as head coach of the Tigers over 16 seasons. That stretch includes four national championship appearances, with wins in 2016-17 and 2018-19.

No, Clemson isn't used to losing, but it appears as if the Tigers may not have much choice in the matter right now. Up next is No. 12 Notre Dame fresh off a massive win over No. 10 USC and a 58-7 drubbing of Pitt a week later.
