Colorado enters Saturday’s showdown against Wyoming at 1–2, still searching for consistency under Coach Prime’s watch. Yet, looking beyond the Cowboys game, another interesting storyline has quickly stolen headlines.
During a Wednesday interview with CBS Sports’ Romi Bean, Deion Sanders fielded a light-hearted question from Bean about his grandson, Snow, being "banned" from Folsom Field.
Sanders confirmed the joke was courtesy of his son Deion Jr., nicknamed "Bucky," who joked on Instagram that Snow’s first two game appearances coincided with Colorado losses.
"I hate to ban my only grandchild," Sanders said. "When I saw it, I thought it was humorous when Bucky goes to Snow, ‘You gotta go, dog.’ … Snow’s a little meany though, he doesn’t have the respect that he should for old grandpa. I say to him, ‘You know you’re going to need me, right?’"
Colorado’s season thus far has been largely defined by uneven quarterback play and defensive lapses.
Three different signal-callers have taken snaps through the first three games for Coach Prime: Kaidon Salter, Julian Lewis and Ryan Staub. Meanwhile, the Buffaloes’ offense ranks 95th nationally at 23.7 points per game, while the defense sits 76th at 23.3 points allowed per contest.
In Week 3 at Houston, Colorado was behind just 16-14 at halftime but was outscored 20-6 after the break in a 36–20 defeat and through three games, Colorado is averaging just 1.7 turnovers per game (41st in the FBS).
Next up, the Buffaloes will host Wyoming on Saturday at 10:15 p.m. ET on ESPN, marking their first home meeting since 2009. Colorado leads the all-time series 23-2-1, according to Sports Reference.
Coach Prime's Buffaloes, playing at Folsom Field, enter as a 12.5-point favorite with a 45.5-point over/under, per ESPN BET.
