College Football Analyst Names Country's Most 'Heated' Rivalry

There are no shortage of great rivalries in college sports and that's part of what makes them so great. But when it comes to the most-heated, those are reserved for a select few programs that are born hating each other.

Over the weekend, 247Sports' Brad Crawford ranked the rivalries he feels are the most venomous in all of NCAA athletics and according to him, there's one that stands above all. And that would be Michigan vs. Ohio State.

"There's real hate between these two programs," Crawford wrote. "Prior to last season, 'The Game' featured top 15 in five straight meetings. Michigan and Ohio State have captured college football's last two national championships and the Wolverines currently enjoy bragging rights on a winning streak in the series."

"See how much this rivalry means to college football?" the writer continued. "The level of respect for the opposition began to dwindle a bit on Ohio State's side of the rivalry due to the Buckeyes' decade-plus reign of dominance prior to the 2021 season, but now the disdain is even stronger."

"Ask anyone associated with 'The Game' and they'll tell you the same thing: It's an extremely bitter fight that is anticipated for months every college football season," he concluded.

As special as rivalries like Duke-UNC are, or the Red River Showdown, Ohio State vs. Michigan is clearly the best thing going right now.

So much so that a coach as successful as Ryan Day was in serious danger of being fired if the Buckeyes didn't perform in the College Football Playoff.

They're the champs though and that should only make next year's game that much better at the end of the season.
