The Texas Longhorns are making a big transition this season. With quarterback Quinn Ewers headed to the NFL, Arch Manning is taking over the starting job. Manning has been the backup for Ewers for the past few seasons and there is a lot of hype around him. Many fans were even calling for him to start in the college football playoff last season.

While many fans have been critical of Ewers, analyst RJ Young spoke on his "Adapt & Respond with RJ Young" YouTube channel about why he thinks Quinn Ewers deserves some credit if Texas wins the national championship this coming season.

"If Texas wins the next national championship, right, 2025, I think it’s going to be because Quinn Ewers set the table for him to do it. That I think should be Quinn Ewers' legacy if Texas can pay all this off," Young said.

Despite saying that Ewers deserves credit, Young did not want to take away from Arch Manning if Texas wins it all next year.

"And I get it, right? It’s a lot for a guy who hasn’t done much, but glory be, this guy Arch is just different. Best Longhorns quarterback that we’ve seen since Vince Young," Young said.

Arch Manning is viewed by many analysts as one of the best quarterbacks in college football. He is getting this hype despite never starting a full season at the college level. Ewers was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL draft.
