Following what was a stellar 2024 college football season, the Texas Longhorns continue to put on a display of just how talented a roster they've had.

While attracting top recruits to Austin, Texas has never been an issue, developing them hasn't always been a slam dunk. That is at least until Steve Sarkisian and his staff rolled into town. Fresh off a season that saw them tie a program record for wins (13),  the Longhorns broke an NFL draft record that was set by last year's draft class.

The record in question is the number of players drafted in a single draft, with last year's 11 being surpassed by this year's mark of 12. In addition to setting the program record for players drafted, the team also announced that the 23 draft picks between the past two drafts are the most among any college football program.

In addition to those feats, the Longhorns also had three players drafted in the first round for the first time since 1980. The class was headlined by Kelvin Banks Jr. going No. 9 overall to the New Orleans Saints, along with defensive back Jahdae Barron going No. 20 to the Denver Broncos and wide receiver Matthew Golden going No. 23 overall to the Green Bay Packers.

While they started the record-setting class, quarterback Quinn Ewers broke the tie. The Miami Dolphins took the former five-star quarterback in the seventh round with the No. 231 overall pick, giving Texas its 12th player selected.

With how much success this program is having on and off the field, it is clear that the Longhorns are back. It's only a matter of time before they are playing for a title.
