College football rankings: Controversy brews in ESPN's FPI

ESPN is back with its college football FPI rankings after Week 2 and heading into Week 3, and the list of colleges has changed quite a bit.

There are certain games everybody is talking about. One of those matchups is Texas vs. Ohio State. This was really one of the craziest college football games we've seen in a while. At one point, Texas was down 23-3, and it seemed all but over for Arch Manning and company.

But, it wasn't. Texas pulled off a stunning win over the No. 1-ranked Ohio State, 24-23. So, as if the Manning hype couldn't get any bigger, now, it's going to be at a fever pitch. It's always exciting to watch a big comeback in sports, unless, of course, it's your team falling.

Oddly, Ohio State is at No. 1 in the ESPN FPI rankings this week. That's certainly going to stir up a debate. After beating Texas, it would make sense to put Ohio State at No. 2, but ESPN's model obviously has confidence in this team. It's controversial, though.

ESPN FPI Top 25 rankings after Week 2

Other big games included the Michigan Wolverines notching a 17-10 victory over Oklahoma at home and unranked Oklahoma State snagging a 39-31 upset over No. 6 Oregon. It just shows that really anything can happen in college football.

The thing these teams all have in common is that they didn't give up. The Wolverines and Ducks were both expected to lose, but they didn't let it get to their heads. Now, they're reaping the benefits of believing in themselves in the form of their rankings getting better going into Week 3.
