Height: 6016 (verified)

Weight: 240lbs (verified)

Year: Senior

Pro Comparison: Carter Coughlin

Scouting Overview

Oklahoma State Cowboys linebacker Collin Oliver is a tweener talent with the rush upside to warrant consideration later in the draft. Thanks to an explosive first step and good general instincts rushing the pocket, his NFL team will have a chance to go after lightning in a bottle.

Oliver boasts impressive cornering ability but comes at the cost of prototypical size. He’s an undersized rusher who will struggle to find a full-time role in one position or another. Oklahoma State managed to find ways to implement him on and off the ball. Still, either opportunity will pose challenges when he’s not rushing the quarterback by way of run processing or matching up in pass coverage.

DNP

Positives

  • Explosive athletic profile lends itself well to attacking offensive tackles on the edge
  • Offers some appealing variety with implementation for creative defensive play-callers
  • Willing from off-ball alignments to attack and plug blockers with physicality

Negatives

  • Offers sub-standard length to live on the perimeter full-time (sub-31” arms)
  • Missed a sizable chunk of the 2024 season with a foot injury
  • Missing power elements to his game to pair with his burst and explosiveness off the edge

Background

Oliver is from Oklahoma City, OK, and played high school football for Edmond Santa Fe HS. There, he was a 4-star standout recruit (247 Sports) who elected to play his college ball for the Cowboys over programs like Arkansas, Oregon, and Georgia. He enrolled with Oklahoma State as a member of the 2021 recruiting class.

He claimed a starting job with the team as a true freshman and was named The Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year while posting 11.5 sacks. He was named Second Team All-Big Ten in the 2021, 2022, and 2023 seasons for his play while playing on the edge and off the ball as an outside linebacker. Oliver missed all but two games of his 2024 season due to a right foot injury.

He accepted an invitation to partake in the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl after the 2024 season.

Ideal Scheme Fit, Role

Oliver projects as a “spinner” rusher who can provide value both on the edge and off the ball. He’s at his best playing forward and is likely looking at trying to earn a role within pressure packages while competing for a special teams opportunity.
