The Colorado Buffaloes continue to make noise in the transfer portal following a successful season in Deion Sanders' second year with the program.
Colorado capped off the 2024 college football season with a 9-3 record and a 7-2 mark in Big 12 play.
While the Buffaloes are currently preparing for an Alamo Bowl matchup against the BYU Cougars, they picked up a big-time commitment from one of the most promising defensive transfers in the nation.
USF transfer safety Tawfiq Byard committed to the Buffaloes with three years of eligibility remaining. Byard played two years with the Bulls, carving out a starting during his sophomore season in 2024.
Upon committing to the Buffaloes, Byard, the brother of All-Pro NFL star Kevin Byard, posted a message for Colorado fans.
"Let's do it!" Byard said. "Sko buffs."

The 6-foot-1 athlete was listed as the No. 26 safety and No. 355 overall player in the 247 Sports transfer portal rankings.
As a high school prospect, Byard was a three-star recruit, ranked as the No. 134 safety and No. 1,437 player in the nation, per 247Sports.
While he committed to USF, Byard also received offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Kent State and Liberty.
As Byard makes his way to Colorado, the Buffaloes will be preparing for the Alamo Bowl. They're set to face the BYU Cougars in San Antonio, Texas, on Dec. 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Colorado enters the game against BYU as a 4-point favorite, per ESPN BET.
