Colorado dropped from list of top 2026 recruit after official visit

Deion Sanders and his staff are working to stock up the 2026 recruiting class in Boulder. After hosting several top visitors last weekend, the Buffs were expected to be in running offensive lineman Felix Ojo.

The nation's No. 4 overall recruit for next year was high on the program and seemed to enjoy his time at the foot of the Flatirons. However, he's reportedly passing on any further consideration for Coach Prime and the Buffs, according to Rivals reporter Amad Gorney.

Sanders, who has been able to pull in many five-star talents, will now wait on the sidelines to snag another top lineman. Ojo is noted as the No. 3 offensive tackle and top player in Texas. Colorado likely wasn't the best offer in his mind after being courted by 50 other schools.

"Stood out physically, athletically, and in field demeanor despite being among the youngest competitors in his class, 247Sports' Gabe Brooks said about Ojo. "Will continue to bulk given immense frame potential. Bolsters athletic profile with discus reps. Capacities for strength and power are high given excellent physical tools and relative youth. Looks like one of the top OT prospects in the 2026 class with potential to become a multi-year high-major tackle with ample pro potential."

At 6-foot-7 and 280 pounds, Ojo will be a name to watch next year. As of now, Colorado only has one player in the 2026 class, which is three-star JUCO edge rusher Domata Peko Jr.

What makes this development sting even more for Sanders is that landing Ojo could have been a major boost to a relatively weak 2026 recruiting class, which as of now only features three-star EDGE Domata Peko Jr.
