Which one will carry the torch for their respective Low-Power Two conferences?

Georgia Tech started last year with a stunning win over Florida State, but to get crazy deep cut here, the team's last season opening win over an FBS team in a game that wasn't played in Ireland was against Notre Dame in 2007.

Pull this off in Boulder, and with Gardner-Webb up next and a whole slew of winnable ACC games after dealing with Clemson, look out.

Colorado has been great in its season openers under Deion Sanders, getting by a fantastic North Dakota State team last year, and shocking the college football world with a win over TCU in 2023.

This is the first time the two programs have ever played each other.

Why Georgia Tech Will Win

Colorado has done just fine in the Coach Prime era by going through the transfer portal, but now it has to replace Shedeur and Travis - no need for last names with those two.

This is still going to be a pass-first Colorado team - but with more running - and Georgia Tech has the secondary to handle it. The defensive backs have to come up with more picks, but this bunch is experienced and can hit.

On the other side, the Yellow Jacket offensive line should be able to keep the Colorado defensive front out of the backfield. Keep Haynes King from getting popped, and look out.

Why Colorado Will Win

It's not like Colorado picked up a few new guys out of the dorms to fill in the gaps.

Led by quarterback Kaidon Salter, the transfers are fantastic, the offensive line got a whole lot better, and the linebacking corps will be a monster.

No, there's no replacing 2, but Salter is a veteran from Liberty who knows what he's doing, and there's no one who can replace 12 on both sides of the ball. However, the receivers are there, and DJ McKinney has elite talent at corner. And ...

Colorado vs Georgia Tech: Who Will Win

There's a chance Colorado might be even better now that it's not totally reliant on Shedeur Sanders on offense.

There should be more of a ground game. Georgia Tech doesn't have the veteran defensive front to make much of a push behind the line, and ...

The Georgia Tech offensive line should be great from the start. Colorado will be fired up at home, the explosion will be there on both sides of the ball, but the play of King, and the control coming from the running game, will bring it home for the ACC.
